Bourne, Massachusetts · Buzzards Bay · 41°41.2′N 70°37.6′W · VHF Ch 09
Red Brook Harbor, near the Buzzards Bay end of the Cape Cod Canal, pairs a genuinely protected anchorage behind Bassetts Island with two full-service marinas — a handy combination when you want shelter and a hot shower.
Anchor in the lee of Bassetts Island in 8–12 ft of sand and mud for good all-round protection, or take a mooring or slip at Kingman Yacht Center or Parkers (Ch 09), both full-service with fuel, provisions and a restaurant. It's a common staging stop before or after transiting the canal.
The anchorage behind the island is a local favorite for a raft-up; the marinas make it an easy reprovisioning and fuel stop on the way through.
Hazards & cautions. Bassetts Island and shoals split the harbor — read the chart working in behind the island. The anchorage behind Bassetts is popular and can crowd on weekends.
