West Falmouth is a small, well-kept harbor on the east shore of Buzzards Bay — a mooring field, a couple of yards, and a quiet corner of Cape Cod a short walk from the beaches.
Enter on the marked channel and take a rental mooring or anchor in the outer harbor in 7–9 ft over sand and mud. It's snug and well protected once you're in, with only the summer southwesterly reaching across the bay to the entrance. Chappaquoit Beach and the Shining Sea bike path are ashore.
A calm, uncrowded alternative to Quissett a couple of miles up the shore, good for a settled night and a beach walk.
Hazards & cautions. The entrance is narrow and shoals to the sides; deeper-draft boats should favor the outer harbor near high water. Largely a mooring harbor — limited anchoring room inside.
