The name honors the founder's late grandfather, Augusto, a lifelong mariner. It carries a longer lineage — from Charles of Fraserburgh and the North Sea, through the parent company North Sea Strategic, to the founder's son Nathan, the next in the line. A single word, because the best harbors don't need a subtitle.
What makes it different. The incumbent charting apps are clunky, app-locked and thin in too many regions. Augusto is built for the way cruisers actually plan — fast, well-structured pages that answer the real question: is this a good place to spend the night, and in which wind? Every anchorage carries holding, bottom, depth, tidal range, fees and VHF, plus a wind-protection rating for all eight directions — computed from shoreline fetch and cross-checked against the public-domain Coast Pilot, not copied from anyone.
Honest by design.Facts come from public-domain government sources — NOAA, NGA, USCG. Where we don't know something, we leave it blank rather than guess, and we never invent a holding rating or a cruiser review. The reports on each page are real, from real boats, and moderated before they appear.
